About the Role

A senior-level Design & Aerostructures Engineer is sought to lead mechanical and structural development for cutting-edge eVTOL aircraft.

This role involves hands-on development of mechanical systems, structures, and components, from concept to certified production, with significant opportunities to grow expertise across adjacent disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement platform-level mechanical systems from aircraft to component level

  • Design structural and mechanical components for critical systems, including fuselage, propulsion mounts, landing gear, and system housings

  • Select and specify materials (e.g., advanced composites, aluminum alloys, titanium, high-performance polymers) based on strength, weight, thermal, and durability requirements

  • Support product development from concept through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and release to production

  • Optimize structures for strength, stiffness, fatigue, and thermal performance

  • Interface with suppliers to validate material choices, manufacturing methods, and fabrication constraints

  • Participate in failure investigations and root cause analyses to resolve mechanical or material issues

  • Be an integral part of the team, projecting positive behaviours and influence onto the team

  • Apply aerospace standards and specifications appropriate to the discipline

  • Challenge the status quo, introducing new ideas to improve engineering quality, productivity, and delivery timelines

  • Enforce standards and ensure rigor, resilience, and continuous improvement in design solutions

  • Act as a project integrator and interface between project management and other engineering teams

  • Stay current with industry developments and implement best practices in your work

  • Drive continuous improvement of processes to increase safety and efficiency

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace structural systems, ideally with composite and stress disciplines

  • Experience with full lifecycle development, from concept to production and certification

  • Familiarity with eVTOL certification regulations (TCCA, FAA, EASA)

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical and structural design, material selection, and component testing

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • No fixed holiday cap

  • Group benefits plan

  • Company share scheme

  • Flexible working options

  • Opportunity to work on groundbreaking aerospace projects in a collaborative, innovative environment
