And we live it too.THE ROLEWhere fitness matters!Supporting and working alongside the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and actively preparing them to defend and serve our country could be your path to an extremely fulfilling career.As part of a dynamic and dedicated team, as a Fitness and Sports Instructor, you will have the opportunity to lead Fitness, Sports and Aquatics programs for a very highly motivated and professional clientele. Daily, you will develop, deliver and assess Tactical programs based on established employment standards to ensure the members of the Canadian Armed Forces can safely and effectively perform their duties in operations.Much like the military we so proudly support, we push the envelope of what’s possible. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and LicensesCollege diploma or certificate in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences, or a related field Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) CertificateExperienceIn preparing and conducting physical fitness training sessionsIn instructing health and physical fitness training modulesIn applying policies, procedures, and regulationsIn evaluating physical fitnessIn aquatics such as lifeguarding or swim instructionIn officiating at least three sports such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, racquet sports, and hockeyIn coaching sportsCompetenciesClient focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadershipLANGUAGE REQUIREMENTSBilingual (English and French) Essential Reading : NoneWriting : NoneOral : FunctionalBENEFITS AVAILABLEHealth Benefits : Employee and Family Assistance Program. As part of the selection process, candidates will undergo a physical fitness test (FORCE Evaluation) and must achieve a minimum level of Bronze. This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
