McMaster University, in conjunction with Hamilton Health Sciences, is seeking a full-time academic pediatric urologist to provide care at McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH). The Ontario West Region Pediatric Urology Program serves a catchment area of more than 2.5 million residents. The service provides tertiary and quaternary level care to patients within the catchment area. The Urology Division within the Department of Surgery, McMaster University is a fully accredited Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada training program in Urology with full involvement in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education programs.

Requirements of the Role :
The successful applicant’s clinical skill set must include the full spectrum of Pediatric Urology, with specific training in pediatric stones management, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, and transition urology. The successful applicant will be expected to show evidence of interpersonal and collaborative skills and initiative to further advance the clinical and academic productivity of the Urology Division. A commitment to surgical education and research at all levels is essential, as well as active participation in the academic initiatives of the Urology Division and the Department of Surgery. The ability to contribute to the research mandate of the division is important. Candidates with either a Master’s degree, or a strong interest in obtaining additional training in this field are preferred. A full-time appointment at the appropriate level in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University is required and will be available to the successful applicant.
Applicants must have a minimum 2-year Fellowship in Pediatric Urology, Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. However, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be considered first for this position.
