Our client is seeking a Payroll Administrator on a contract to hire basis. Initial contract will be 3 weeks, with potential of conversion to permanent, full-time based on performance. This role is hybrid, and can be based out of the following locations : North Vancouver (3-4 days per week onsite)Port Coquitlam (1-2 days per week)This person will be joining a dynamic Finance Team as a Payroll Administrator and play a vital role in managing the administration of hourly payroll for our client's company! It is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who is ready to take their career to the next level.Key Responsibilities : Maintain employee data files and ensure accurate updates (new hires, terminations, wage increases, and status changes).Produce weekly hours reports from Acumatica for payroll processing.Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, union agreements, and regulatory requirements.Perform audits to keep records current and accurate.Manage and administer weekly hourly payroll, ensuring timely payments.Maintain payroll records as required by federal and provincial regulations.Accurately report and record all payroll transactions, verifying pay amounts, hours worked, deductions, etc.Process and prepare payroll journal reconciliations.Calculate and prepare necessary adjustments, termination payments, or special payments for the current payroll cycle.Collaborate with Payroll and Accounting departments to resolve any issues.Track and address payroll inquiries.Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROE) within legislated timeframes.Maintain the confidentiality of payroll information.Set up new hires in the payroll system, ensuring correct deductions and earnings.Handle T4 reconciliations and year-end processing.Ensure timely and accurate entry of equipment usage hours.Prepare weekly equipment cost reports using Pivot tables.Assist in preparing accounts payable invoice allocations.Qualifications / Skills : Post-secondary education at the college or university level.A minimum of 3 years of related full cycle payroll experience, preferably in a unionized environment.Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or pursuing their PCP designation.Acumatica payroll experience an asset.Intermediate Excel skills, including expertise in Pivot tables.Strong data entry skills with a keen attention to detail.Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.High standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.Initiative and sound judgment.A collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented approach.Excellent relationship-building abilities.Strong prioritization and time management skills.
