Job description

An industry-leading construction and manufacturing firm is seeking a tenacious, high-level leader to oversee our internal production and field operations. This is a strategic "bridge" role where you will synchronize our engineering, manufacturing, and construction efforts to ensure every project is executed with precision. We are looking for a professional who balances high-level business acumen with a grounded, "all-hands-on-deck" mentality

Advantages

Competitive Compensation : A dedicated salary structure designed for a senior leader.

Performance Incentives : Eligibility for variable compensation and performance-based bonuses.

Comprehensive Benefits : Full health and wellness coverage available after a standard 90-day period.

Strategic Impact : You will have high decision-making authority and a seat at the table with the executive leadership team to shape company strategy.

Work-Life Balance : Minimal monthly travel (2–4 days) allowing for a primary focus at our Edmonton-based Head Office.

Responsibilities

Operational Stewardship : Direct the daily manufacturing, production, and engineering activities, ensuring strict adherence to HSE and QA / QC standards.

Financial Management : Oversee the department's financial health, including P&L, WIP reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a direct team of five, including Senior Project Managers and Coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.

Project Governance : Guide the change order process, negotiate cost impacts, and establish efficient construction sequencing.

Strategic Planning : Identify organizational risks and translate high-level company goals into actionable performance metrics for the operations team

Qualifications

Experience : A minimum of 2–4 years in a Senior Operations role, specifically within the construction industry.

Education : A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred; an MBA is considered a major asset.

Technical Proficiency : Advanced knowledge in Finance, Procurement, and Strategic Planning, along with mastery of MS Office and data analysis.

Soft Skills : Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to resolve complex conflicts and manage diverse stakeholders.

The "Vibe" : You must be "Hungry, Humble, and Smart"—a proactive leader who prioritizes quality over speed and thrives in a non-union, collaborative environment.

Logistics : Must be local to Edmonton and eligible for US entry to support North American projects as needed.

Summary

This role is designed for a sophisticated Operations Manager who isn't afraid to get into the details of a project while maintaining a 30,000-foot view of the business. You will be the primary driver of efficiency, safety, and profitability across our project lifecycle. We value respect above all else and are looking for a leader who builds commitment through a compelling vision rather than just a title.

If you match the qualifications for the role with Canadian experience please email paul.rabel@randstad.ca. Only qualified candidates matching the listed criteria will be contacted.
