Position Summary:The Community Integration Worker is responsible for providing services to school-aged children challenged by a developmental and/or intellectual disability, in order to facilitate their integration into the community. Primary responsibilities include: assessment, individual program and family support planning and intervention. Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Must be familiar with and provide services in compliance with prescribed agency, ministry and legal standards.
  • Excellent documentation skills that meet compliance with prescribed agency, ministry, and legal standards.
  • Must have excellent time management skills to meet the demands of a heavy case load and reporting deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Experience and knowledge of assessments of children.
  • Able to design, implement and evaluate Family Support Plans.
  • Knowledge of child development.
  • Skill and ability to engage therapeutically with all clients.
  • Must be able to work in a team setting and independently.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree in a course of study related to Developmental Services such as Education, Psychology, Social Worker, Occupational/Physiotherapy, or nursing.
  • Two to three years experience in working with children with a developmental/intellectual disability.
  • Applicants with similar academic qualifications and related experience may be considered.
Required:
  • Must possess a valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $1000 000.00 Liability.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector check, Internal Records Check and Driver’s Abstract.
