SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Manager, Health & Safety manages and provides leadership for SaskEnergy’s health and safety management programs and systems utilized to fulfill the safety mandate. Also this role is accountable for corporate compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Acts and Regulations.
Position Details
This position is a permanent full time non-union role.
Key Accountabilities
Manage and provide leadership for the Safety Management Programs to ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are met by the corporation.
Manage and provide leadership to assigned workgroup in the effective and efficient delivery of health and safety services.
Provide professional advice and assistance to operational groups in accident investigations, including post incident drug and alcohol program administration.
Provide technical advice and support to SHE committees, operation management and executives regarding health and safety strategies, policies and programs.
Research and recommend innovative industry health and safety trends and practices.
Manage and provide leadership for the annual Safety Stand Up Program.
Act as the corporate contact for the health and safety workgroup for the Canadian Gas Association (CGA), the Pipeline Association and other external agencies (including Saskatchewan Occupational Health & Safety, etc.).
Coordinate and complete SaskEnergy's internal and external audits.
Develop and administer Health & Safety’s departmental budget ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Degree in Business Administration, Health Science or Social Science;
Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation or equivalent.
Six (6) years in safety and health activities in the petroleum industry.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered
Additional Information
Travel, including overnight stays away from headquarters is required on occasion.
The job is safety sensitive, and as such, is subject to the provisions of the Drug and Alcohol Policy (Pre-Employment or Pre-Placement for Safety Sensitive Positions).
