Strategic Communications & Engagement Management
Overview
The President of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC is responsible for leading the organization and representing its interests in advocating for non-motorized recreation. This role requires a dynamic, passionate leader with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have experience engaging with governments at all levels, a commitment to diversity and inclusivity, and the ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous Peoples and underrepresented groups.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the operations and strategic direction of the Federation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members and stakeholders.
- Represent the Federation at industry conferences, events, and meetings.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational goals and objectives through strategic planning.
- Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure the Federation remains innovative and relevant in addressing challenges like climate change and budget constraints.
- Oversee financial health by managing budgets, developing fundraising strategies, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure the Board of Directors comprises the skills and expertise needed to achieve the Federation’s mission.
- Serve as the official media spokesperson for the Federation.
