Job Description
What You’ll Do as an Industrial Electrician
- Work with advanced manufacturing equipment like conveyors, overhead and transfer systems, robotic systems, and presses.
- Maintain and improve plant machinery and equipment to minimize production line disruptions.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment per standardized procedures.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, bearings, and gears.
- Analyze and resolve electrical and controls issues throughout the plant.
- Troubleshoot automation systems and devices (PLC, I / O, VFDs, fieldbuses, communication networks).
- Replace defective devices or commission new ones, including basic configuration or backup reloading.
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation (electrical diagrams, installation notes, etc.).

Ontario or Inter-Provincial (442A / Red Seal) Electrician Certificate of QualificationCompleted Electrician Apprenticeship (preferred)3-5 years of relevant work experience as a Licensed Electrician
Skills and Knowledge :
General industrial electronics and process control conceptsAbility to read, understand, create, and update electrical diagramsElectrical troubleshooting with multimeters and diagnostic tools (24VDC, 240VAC, 480VAC)Experience with industrial control systems (control panels, relays, contactors, safety systems)Experience with industrial automation systems, including PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMIsAbility to read PLC programs and reload from backupExperience with VFDs (SEW, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Lenze)Experience with industrial fieldbuses (Profibus, Profinet, ASi)Understanding of industrial safety systems and devices (Estops, light curtains, safety doors)Basic knowledge of Ethernet and networking skillsWorking knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulicsExperience with AutoCAD for electrical plansStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with Microsoft Visual Studio C# and Visual BasicProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and ProjectExperience using tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes to repair equipmentExperience troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipmentPreventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment
