Job Title : MRI Technologist
Status : Temporary Full Time (12 Month Contract)

Wage Schedule : $36.840 - $51.770 per hour

DESCRIPTION :
Reporting to Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning implementation and evaluating patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment. The Registered Technologist will be responsible for the complete range of tests and procedures related to MRI exams, MR safety, patient preparation and screening, patient information registry and report preparation, equipment maintenance, and other duties as relevant.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Current registration with the C.M.R.I.T.O.
- Current Canadian Magnetic Resonance certification;
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Medical Technologist, preferred;
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience, preferred;
- Current CAMRT Registration, an asset;
- Recent experience with Siemens Scanner, an asset;
- Thorough knowledge of the theory and practices of procedures, equipment and special techniques related to MR;
- Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community;
- Able to function effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement;
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position;
- Must have a satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and,

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
