The Emergency Department presents a dynamic and challenging environment for nursing practice. Our patients come from diverse socio-economic and multicultural backgrounds, requiring nurses with strong critical-thinking skills and adaptability. We seek experienced, passionate Registered Nurses with prior experience working with similar populations, who are committed to delivering safe and effective care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards. Collaborative decision-making is at the core of our multidisciplinary health care team. In this role, nurses may be required to work across various areas of the Emergency Department at the discretion of the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse. Description :
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications : Preferred Qualifications :
Preference will be given to those with Certified Emergency Nurse ( or Acute / Critical Care experience within the last 2 years. Able to demonstrate excellent assessment, organizational, patient care, and leadership skills. Triage and / or Charge nurse experience an asset.
