Your Opportunity:
You will work with a dynamic, supportive team and will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in your community. Reporting to the Home Care Manager, you will utilize your strong assessment, organizational, and leadership skills to provide leadership and supervision of health care aides and deliver quality nursing care to clients in the community. The successful candidate will play a key role on the interdisciplinary team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic, client and family centre care. Your role will require you to work independently in client homes, lift and carry medical bags and be comfortable working in all weather conditions. In this role, you will utilize your strong oral and written communication and deliver quality nursing care to clients in all developmental stages in the community. Utilizing your experience in wound care, palliative care and client teaching you will take a collaborative approach to meeting health goals, contribute to the nursing diagnosis, and participate in nursing interventions and outcomes.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Home Care experience is strongly preferred. Training with Connect Care for Home Care, wound care, lower leg assessments, palliative care, HPT, vac therapy will be considered assets.
