Job description

Do work that matters

We’re looking for a curious and driven Advanced Analytics Senior Analyst to deliver impactful, data-driven insights that improve customer outcomes and support key business decisions.

You’ll use data as a strategic asset to solve complex problems, uncover opportunities, and enhance the end-to-end customer journey. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that balance customer, risk, and commercial outcomes.

See yourself in our team

You will be part of the Data & Analytics team (Products, Pricing & Analytics), which supports decision-making across the organisation through insights, reporting, and advanced analytics.

The Decision Support team focuses on deepening customer relationships and improving experiences through data-led insights. You will work closely with stakeholders across the bank to support both strategic initiatives and business-as-usual operations.

This role requires strong technical capability, clear communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders by translating data into meaningful business insights.

Why Bankwest?

Bankwest has a proud WA heritage and is on a journey to become Australia’s favourite digital bank. We’re customer-obsessed, move fast, and empower our people to make decisions that deliver meaningful outcomes.

You’ll join a collaborative, high-performing team where diverse thinking is valued and innovation is encouraged.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver actionable insights to support strategic and operational decisions
  • Analyse large datasets using tools like SQL and Python
  • Develop predictive models, segmentation, and analytics solutions
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the customer lifecycle
  • Partner with stakeholders to solve business problems using data
  • Build and maintain stakeholder-facing dashboards and visualisations using Tableau and/or Power BI to track performance, communicate insights, and support business decision-making
  • Apply a strong risk and governance mindset, ensuring responsible use of data
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation in analytics processes

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in advanced analytics, data science, or similar, ideally in banking or financial services
  • Strong skills in SQL, with hands-on experience in Tableau and/or Power BI for data visualisation, along with Python/R for advanced analytics
  • Experience with predictive modelling and machine learning techniques
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate insights into business value
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Understanding of data governance, risk, and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of retail banking products (e.g. home lending) is desirable

What’s in it for You?

  • Work on meaningful problems that impact real customers
  • Be part of a high-performing analytics team
  • Opportunity to use cutting-edge tools and AI/ML technique
  • Flexible, collaborative, and inclusive work environment
