Job description

One of our esteemed clients who believes in great management culture of fostering development and growth of employees is seeking a skilled Roofer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing and construction, with the ability to work effectively in various weather. As a Roofer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

  • Install, repair, and replace conventional and inverted built-up roofing systems
  • Install and work on modified bitumen roofing systems
  • Install rigid pre-formed roofing systems
  • Install and maintain single-ply membrane roofing systems
  • Apply waterproof coatings to concrete and masonry surfaces
  • Inspect roofing systems to identify deficiencies, leaks, and repair requirements
  • Troubleshoot and detect roof leaks and water penetration issues
  • Perform re-roofing work, including inspection and assessment of existing roof conditions.
  • Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials accurately
  • Secure insulation and cover boards using screw guns and other appropriate tools
  • Perform basic carpentry work for constructing parapets, curbs, and roof blocking
  • Align, position, set, and cut membrane rolls as required for installation
  • Operate open-flame torches and hot-air hand welders safely and effectively.
  • Use hand and power tools such as knives, hammers, measuring tapes, chalk lines, and screw guns.
  • Handle physically demanding roofing tasks, including lifting materials weighing up to 50 lbs



Requirements

Employment Requirements:

  • Journeyman or vast experience in roofing
  • RCABC certification is required
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in roofing is required
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required for mobility to various job sites.
  • Functional English communication skills are required


Benefits

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Wage: $ 28.00 to $ 43.00 per hour , depending on experience
  • Overtime pay applicable after 40 hours of work per week
  • Vacation: 10 days per year
  • Statutory benefits: EI, CPP, and WCB coverage
  • Extended health benefits available after successful completion of the probation period, with premiums shared on a 50/ 50 cost basis
