Job Responsibilities :
Performing vehicle repairs and / or maintenance work as outlined on RO with efficiency and accuracy, performing all duties in accordance with dealership and OEM standardsCommunicating with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production / repairs, cycle times and customer communicationConducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations for repairs while ensuring the safety and reliability of any vehicle that has been repaired prior to them being returned to the customerDocument all work performed on the vehicle RO by creating a story in the on the associated repair order, in a manner consistent with OEM standards, ensuring payment of warranty work is provided by the manufacturerMaintain an inventory of common automotive technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as a “store-provided” piece of equipmentKeep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as requiredProviding an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenueRequirements :
Are available to work part time hours, to be discussed at intrview.A provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in processRed Seal Certification would be beneficialCompletion of a related post-secondary program and or training coursesProfessional demeanor and strong work ethicExcellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to operate electronic diagnostic equipmentAbility to work individually and as part of a teamHigh level of integrity and work ethicMust possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving historyWork Conditions :
Indoor / outdoor shop environment subject to changing temperatures in hot and cold climates where physically vigorous work is, or may be, requiredSubject to regular exposure to fumes, dust / dirt, oil, grease, and noise from equipment operationWork around and operate machinery and other motorized equipment, including operation of motor vehicles with automatic and manual transmissionsSitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of timeLifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 75 poundsManipulate hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipmentReach overhead, the shoulder and horizontally to reach and place materials and equipment in certain areasOccasional bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, turning and twisting to reach various vehicle parts in need of repairOccasional carrying, pushing, or pulling boxes and other vehicle repair equipment to facilitate repairsClarity of vision at varying distances in various color shades to observe diagnostic instruments, manuals, and other printed informationVerbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner
