Description
Your Career as an Investment Banking Analyst
You'll work under the direction of a senior officer and with other experienced professionals, helping to generate ideas, advise clients and execute transactions, offering a high degree of responsibility to those demonstrating initiative.
In this position you’ll focus on developing presentations for current and prospective clients, financial modeling and conducting industry and company research. As your career progresses, you will take on increased responsibilities on live transactions and participating in business development activities under the guidance of experienced professionals.
With a focused, project team approach, you will have ample opportunity for career growth and development. On any given project, you may interact with other departments including Corporate Banking, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, among others, to gain knowledge and understanding of both investment banking and capital markets.
Job Requirements
How You Will Contribute
- Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and mergers and acquisition opportunities.
- Develop valuation models of individual private and public companies as well as merged entities.
- Apply valuation tools to assess opportunities and value public/private companies
- Assist with client negotiations and documentation, with increasing responsibility/accountability over time.
- Prepare external client marketing materials and presentations.
- Apply product and capital markets knowledge to assist client's in achieving their objectives.
Must-Have
- Undergraduate degree with a demonstrated interest in finance
- Have a combination of strong financial/analytical skills, with a particular focus on financial analysis, accounting and capital markets concepts.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft products, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Adept at financial modeling and valuation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- High attention to detail, curiosity and ability to adapt to evolving situations.
- Willingness to attain FINRA SIE and Series 79 licenses.
Nice-To-Have
- Prior investment banking analyst experience
- CA and/or CFA designation considered a strong asset.
