On behalf of an esteemed government organization, we are conducting this confidential search for a Full- Time position in the Peel Region of Greater Toronto Area.
Job Title : Senior Server Infrastructure Specialist
Job Type : Full Time / Contract
Job Location : Mississauga
Responsibilities :
Assists with design of server infrastructure solutions, including, but not limited to, Windows,
Exchange, Linux, Azure, and / or other cloud technologies to meet the organization’s
requirements for performance, scalability, security, and availability.
Leads the implementation and deployment of server infrastructure solutions, including
configuration, provisioning, and automation of virtual machines, containers, storage, networking,
and other infrastructure components. Ensure compliance with best practices, security
standards, and organizational policies.
Monitors, analyzes, and optimizes the performance, utilization, and capacity of server
infrastructure components. Identifies and resolves performance and scalability issues, and
proactively recommends improvements to enhance the performance and efficiency of the
infrastructure.
Collaborates with security teams to ensure the server infrastructure is secure and compliant with
organizational and industry standards. Implements security controls, encryption, and access
controls to protect data and prevent unauthorized access.
Assumes responsibility for Capacity, Availability and / or Lifecycle planning of Server
Infrastructure.
Provides Level 3 technical expertise and troubleshooting support for server infrastructure
incidents and problems. Investigates and diagnoses issues, proposes and implements
solutions, and documents resolutions.
Creates and maintains documentation, including As-Built documents, configuration guides,
standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles. Shares knowledge and
provides knowledge transfer training to intermediate and junior staff members to enhance their
understanding of deployed server infrastructure technologies.
Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) from various IT disciplines to form
comprehensive solutions to meet or exceed design criteria specified by diverse business units.
Creates, maintains, and validates appropriate disaster avoidance and recovery plans in
conjunction with other IT teams.
Creates and reconciles procurement documents for goods / services in support of the server
infrastructure, including budgeting / forecasting analysis.
Maintains a high level of technical knowledge of industry trends and products.
Required Skills :
A university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a
related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
One or more certifications in the following, or an equivalent field, is required :
o Azure Solutions Architect Expert
o Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
o Equivalent certification
A minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining
Microsoft Windows Servers, including high availability, disaster recovery, security, and automatic
failover configurations.
Domain Controller (DC), Active Directory (AD), GPO, Kerberos, NTLM, Distributed File
System (DFS), Domain Name System (DNS), DHCP & RADIUS, etc.
Windows patching using SCCM or a similar tool
Automation of OS deployment using Resolve or other similar tools
Troubleshooting and monitoring of Windows, Exchange and Linux servers using SCOM
or SolarWinds or a similar toolervers
A minimum of 3 years of working experience with the following systems, tools and / or
technologies :
o Linux Operating Systems Administration and Management
o Application Load Balancers, such as F5 Big-IP and / or F5 NGINX Plus
o Networking, storage, and security concepts related to servers
Knowledge of different Storage types (like SAN, iSCSI, NFS, HCI, Object Storage) and working
knowledge of using them in Datacenter and Cloud for Server infrastructure.
Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Compensation :
Attractive compensation that is reviewed every six months plus full benefits and defined pension plan amongst other attractive compensation package are offered with this role.
