Job description
Represent the Customs Division of FFCA in business excellence and sustainability with corporate compliance.
Supporting the customer relationship to add value to the business. Meet budget expectations and quality objectives. The National support of the Customs Department for the Canadian company. Compliance to CBSA regulations.
Leading the CA Customs Department to excellent Customs Brokerage performance in :

Providing regulatory compliance, training, operational customs brokerage guidance and sales support.
Operational Branch support in conjunction with operational excellence. Review, evaluation and implementation of procedures and processes (best practices) incl. training and mentoring of staff.
Key Activities / Accountabilities
- Coordinating the clearance of ocean, air and ground freight, plus LVS courier freight.
- Daily preparation of EDI via IID and manual release requests to include all modes of transport for various commodities.
- Ensure all documentation and filings are accordance with customs rules and regulations
- Completion and presentation of confirming entries.
- Providing proactive client service and handling of client inquiries both internal and external.
- On call for inquiries for PARS and shipments afterhours
- Maintain CA Customs Brokerage standard operating procedures
- Ensure timely and accurate Import product invoicing
- Ensure file level revenues and costs are booked within the same financial period.
- Ensure customs brokerage product file cost allocations are completed before month end or accrued into same period
- Minimizing un-allocated payments (waste – demurrage, file level errors)
- Comply with Customs department Import product KPI's with focus on continuous improvement
- Preparation and submission of refunds, drawbacks and claim processing follow up.
- Other duties as assigned by CA Customs Manager
Applicant's profile
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
oProfound knowledge of Import Customs Brokerage and transportation processes and procedures from training college or programs.
o+3 years of customs rating / releasing experience
oExperience with Customs Rating and Releasing
oCan work with HS / Cadex / Across / PARS etc
oExperienced with preparing entries, import permits, LVS / HVS shipments
transmit entries and confirm release with Canada Customs
oPractical knowledge of procedures and processes
oCustoms software knowledge
oFamiliar with MS Office applications
oGood data entry skills
oAbility to multi-task and prioritize, working as a team player.
oCan work independently and is a problem solver.
oGood communications skills, able to converse with clients and carriers.
