Job descriptionMust be a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). Must hold the RCIC-IRB designation. Minimum 2–3 years of experience handling refugee claims and appeals. Strong knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures. Excellent legal writing and research skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English required; additional languages such as Urdu, Hindi, or Punjabi are an asset). Ability to work independently and manage multiple files under deadlines. Proficiency with case management systems, Microsoft Office, and online filing portals. Prior experience in spousal sponsorships, work permits, PR pathways, and humanitarian applications (H&C). Knowledge of Canadian case law and jurisprudence relevant to refugee and sponsorship cases. Sunwest Immigration & Visa Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC-IRB) to join our growing team. This role requires expertise in refugee and litigation matters, along with a solid understanding of Canadian immigration programs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Represent clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), including RAD, RPD, IAD, and ID matters.
- Provide professional advice and prepare applications for refugee claims, appeals, and other immigration programs.
- Draft persuasive submissions, affidavits, and supporting documentation for complex cases.
- Conduct client consultations, assess eligibility, and recommend immigration strategies.
- Stay up to date with IRCC policies, Ministerial Instructions, and recent case law.
- Maintain accurate client records in compliance with CICC standards.
- Collaborate with other consultants and lawyers on litigation and immigration files.
