Job Title: Technicien de service sur le terrain I Field Service Technician

Le technicien de service sur le terrain assure l'installation, l'inspection, la réparation, le dépannage et la reconstruction sur place de l'équipement installé sur le terrain, sur les sites des clients. Le poste implique de fréquents déplacements dans l'est du Canada.

Les responsabilités peuvent inclure, mais ne sont pas nécessairement limitées à ce qui suit :

  • Installation et mise en service d'équipements utilisés dans les scieries et les usines de pâtes et papiers;
  • Conduite de travaux d'inspection, de réparation et d'entretien préventif sur les équipements installés;
  • Prestation de soutien technique et de formation aux clients sur le fonctionnement et l'entretien des produits vendus par l'entreprise;
  • Assistance pour l'acquisition de données techniques et d'autres informations nécessaires pour soutenir les activités commerciales de l'entreprise;
  • Préparation de rapports techniques et administratifs tels que rapports de service, feuilles de temps et dossiers de réparation et d'inspection;
  • Maintien de pratiques de travail sécuritaires et respect des politiques et réglementations de sécurité de l'entreprise, du client et du gouvernement;
  • Déplacement chez les clients dans tout l'est du Canada;
  • Travail à des heures irrégulières, y compris les fins de semaine.

Lors de la sélection des candidats, nous rechercherons les compétences, les aptitudes et l'expérience essentielles suivantes :

  • Forte aptitude mécanique avec compétences avérées en matière de dépannage;
  • Trois ans ou plus d'expérience de travail dans un environnement industriel à assembler, réparer et/ou dépanner des machines industrielles;
  • Bonnes capacités de communication à l'oral et à l'écrit, en français et en anglais;
  • Familiarité avec la suite de produits Microsoft Office;
  • Capacité à lire et à comprendre les dessins techniques et les spécifications d'ingénierie;
  • Détention d'un permis de conduire valide;
  • Capacité à voyager par avion et à travailler dans toutes les régions du Canada;
  • Capacité à travailler de manière autonome avec une supervision minimale;
  • Capacité à établir des priorités et à organiser le travail afin de respecter les objectifs et les délais;
  • Autorisé légalement à travailler au Canada.

D'autres compétences, aptitudes et expériences appréciées, mais non essentielles, incluent :

  • Un diplôme professionnel en mécanique industrielle ou électromécanique;
  • Expérience avec les outils de mesure et de diagnostic utilisés pour le dépannage des machines industrielles;
  • Connaissance de l'industrie des scieries et/ou des usines de pâtes et papiers, de préférence avec des équipements de traitement primaire du bois;

The Field Service Technician provides on-site installation, inspection, repair, troubleshooting and rebuilding of field-installed equipment located at customer sites. The position involves frequent travel throughout eastern Canada.

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Installing and commissioning equipment used in sawmills and pulp and paper mills;
  • Conducting inspection, repairs, and preventive maintenance work on installed equipment;
  • Providing customers with technical support and training on the operation and maintenance of products sold by the company;
  • Assisting in the acquisition of technical data and other information required to support the company's business activities;
  • Preparing technical and administrative reports such as service reports, time sheets, and repair and inspection records;
  • Maintaining safe work practices and adhering to company, customer, and governmental safety policies and regulations;
  • Travelling to customer premises throughout all eastern Canada;
  • Working irregular hours, including weekends.

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills;
  • Three years or more of experience working in an industrial environment assembling, repairing, and/or troubleshooting industrial machinery;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, both French and English;
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products;
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering specifications;
  • Possession of a valid driver's license;
  • Ability to travel by air and work in all regions of Canada;
  • Capable to work autonomously with minimum supervision;
  • Able to prioritize and organize work to meet objectives and deadlines;
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • A vocational degree in industrial mechanics or electro-mechanics;
  • Experience with measurement and diagnostic tools used for troubleshooting industrial machinery;
  • Knowledge of the sawmill and/or pulp mill industries, preferably with primary wood processing equipment;
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of wood chip producing devices such as disc chippers and chipper canters;
  • Understanding of ring debarkers and their operation.
