Legacy Co-op is recruiting a Full Time Health and Safety Advisor in Yorkton, SK.The successful applicant will provide health and safety services throughout all Legacy Co-op locations including food stores, liquor stores, home building centres, gas bars, retail ag sites, and administration offices.

What you'll do : Reporting to the Asset Protection / Loss Prevention manager, the Health and Safety Advisor leads, promotes, and oversees the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance of a comprehensive health and safety program that aligns with the safety initiatives of Legacy Co-op. You will also be responsible for :
Providing coaching, advice, and support to all management and staff on a broad variety of health and safety activities and initiatives,
Investigating and analyzing incidents, hazard identifications, policies, procedures, and manuals as it relates to health and safety,
Working collaboratively with all stakeholders to generate solutions suitable for the effective and safe operation of all departments and divisions.
Assisting management in identifying required safety training and coordinate and provide safety education for employees.
Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation is maintained and serve as the technical expert on all health and safety initiatives and concerns.

Who you are : You are interested and have a passion for all areas of Healthy & Safety, and have :
- Relevant post-secondary education from a recognized educational institution including a OHS certificate. A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered. The following designations would be an asset : Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC), Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
- Valid Class 5 license and maintain it throughout employment.
- 3 Years of relevant experience
- Experience using online Safety tracking software and programs & competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess leadership qualities and demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with coaching and delivering training
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Flexible working weekends and holidays and on call to support the retail as required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Safety-sensitive positions require a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
