Overview
Introduction The Senior Health Information Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the planning, assessment, and optimization of health information systems across the organization. This role is responsible for analyzing business needs, documenting requirements, assessing system impacts, and supporting functional testing to ensure high-quality delivery of clinical and administrative information solutions. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders, project teams, and technical specialists to ensure systems comply with relevant Canadian federal and provincial legislation and operate effectively within a complex multi-application environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed business analysis for health information systems, including requirements identification, development, and analysis
- Evaluate and document Business and IT impacts related to new or existing health information systems that operate across multi-platform, multi-application environments
- Assess health information solutions for compliance with applicable Canadian Federal or Provincial legislation
- Develop functional testing documentation including test plans, test cases, scenarios, and test result reports. Coordinate and execute testing activities
- Identify and evaluate alternative technology solutions, analyze options, and provide recommendations to resolve business challenges
- Document Business and IT impacts including transformation needs, training implications, use cases, implementation considerations, system changes, and process changes
- Perform options analyses for new system functionality, including evaluating multiple solutions, conducting impact assessments, estimating level of effort, and making recommendations
- Provide leadership and oversight to small teams (2+ resources) involved in requirements engineering, functional testing, training material development, use case documentation, impact analysis, and compliance reporting
