EPC Planner / Scheduler

Be our next  EPC Planner / Scheduler!

In this role, you will be a part of the Oil & Gas, Chemical business sector in Brampton, ON and will be responsible for supporting a broad range of projects, including but not limited to Small / Mid / Large EPC or EPCM projects. The successful candidate must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities and the ability to build, train and oversee work of a team.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Development schedules at levels 1-4 with milestones, update and maintenance of resource loaded schedules, critical path analysis, resolution of scheduling conflicts and monitoring schedule delays, impacts and variances to the baseline.
  • Evaluate and report schedule deviations and review change management.
  • Analyze, trend and communicate schedule and progress information to project personnel through useful graphs and reports.
  • Provide weekly and monthly project reports and interface with Client representatives as necessary.
  • Lead monthly process of Progress and Performance measurement based on EVM (Earned Value Method). Prepare and present project planning reports for project management and customer review.
  • Hold project team accountable for progress commitments. Influence others, not under your direct control, to drive for completion of tasks and attainment of project milestones.
  • Develop EPC resource loaded schedule phases (Engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning) with strong knowledge of Project Planning / Scheduling.
  • Provide project planning input into proposals and bids.
  • Communicate proactively with project team, stakeholders and project leadership all issues and variances which may influence the project outcome.
  • Ensure Change Management is adhered to by project team to quantify impact to schedule and cost. Lead the effort with project team to develop mitigation plans to stay on plan.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other project personnel
  • Liaise with Project Managers and clients to clarify planning related requirements, reporting purposes and issues.
  • Work with Project Controls Manager to ensure alignment of the project forecast Estimate at Completion (EAC) both in terms of time and cost.
  • Work with Project Controls Manager to develop and consistently utilize Project Controls processes, procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in Project Assurance activities and assessments, such as (CSRA) Cost and Schedule Risk Assessment.
  • Contribute to the development of the department’s procedures with continuous review and improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and company standards.
  • Validate integrated, detailed schedules from contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Assist in developing detailed work breakdown structures.
  • Identify all the tasks required to effectively ensure that all equipment and material delivery is effectively forecasted.

What your experience looks like

  • P6 scheduling software knowledge, with expert-level knowledge and experience with : resource loaded, cost loaded, re-baselines, CPM and scope changes.
  • Quality control of own work.
  • WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure).
  • Primavera P6 (latest versions)
  • Intermediate level skill in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • 8+ years progressive experience on small to large EPC or EPCM projects within Oil & Gas, and Chemicals, or similar industries.
  • Position is home office based, but periodic travel to other EXP offices, client offices, or project sites may be required occasionally.
