GardaWorld is seeking experienced and motivated Loss Prevention Investigators to join a dedicated Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Task Force operating in Sudbury and surrounding areas. This specialized team is responsible for identifying, investigating, and disrupting retail theft, fraud, and organized criminal activity impacting multiple retail locations.Working collaboratively with retail partners, law enforcement, and internal stakeholders, investigators will conduct investigations, intelligence gathering, and apprehensions while supporting the development of criminal cases and prosecution efforts.This role is ideal for individuals with strong investigative skills, experience in loss prevention or security operations, and a passion for combating organized retail crime.

What does a Loss Prevention Investigator do?

  • Conduct covert and overt surveillance relating to theft, fraud, and organized retail crime investigations
  • Identify and investigate repeat offenders, organized theft groups, and fraudulent activity
  • Gather, document, and preserve evidence in support of criminal and civil proceedings
  • Conduct internal and external investigations
  • Apprehend suspects in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, and training
  • Prepare detailed reports, statements, occurrence summaries, and evidence packages
  • Liaise with local law enforcement agencies and participate in joint investigations where appropriate
  • Monitor theft trends, criminal activity, and intelligence related to organized retail crime
  • Utilize CCTV systems and investigative technology to support investigations
  • Attend court proceedings and provide testimony when required
  • Maintain a professional and positive relationship with retail partners and stakeholders
  • Support operational crime prevention initiatives and shrink reduction strategies

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
  • Valid Ontario Private Investigator Licence
  • Ability to travel throughout Sudbury and surrounding areas as operationally required
  • Strong report-writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in dynamic environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting system
  • Strong observation and surveillance skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong analytical and investigative mindset
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, as required
