Job Title: Outdoor Forklift Operator

We’re moving fast and need a reliable, safety‑minded Yard Forklift Operator who’s ready to jump in and get to work right away. If you know your way around a busy yard, can handle a forklift with confidence, and take pride in keeping operations running smoothly, you’ll fit right in.

Responsibilities

• Operate large forklifts — Move oversized construction materials like lumber, 60‑ft frames, and V‑roof structures.
• Load and unload trailers — Secure loads and follow yard handling procedures.
• Handle shipping and receiving — Move products to designated areas and stage outbound loads.
• Pick orders with RF scanners — Ensure accurate material selection for customers and internal needs.
• Maintain yard organization — Place materials in correct locations to maximize space and workflow.
• Split duties — Spend 30–40% of the day on forklifts; the rest on general labor tasks.
• Lift materials safely — Handle 50–60 lb items and assist teammates with manual moves.
• Work outdoors — Stay productive and safe in all weather conditions.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year forklift experience — Outdoor sit‑down forklift operation on rough terrain.
• Loading/unloading skills — Confident handling of materials with sit‑down or outdoor counterbalance forklifts.
• Order picking experience — Yard or warehouse picking in a material‑handling environment.
• Outdoor work readiness — Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• RF scanner experience — Picking, shipping, and receiving using RF technology.
• Lifting ability — Able to lift and carry 50–60 lbs throughout the shift.
• Shipping/receiving knowledge — Handling incoming and outgoing loads.
• Safe forklift operation — Operate safely in a busy yard with multiple machines.
• Shift availability — Monday–Friday, approx. 6:00 .–2:30 , or 11:00AM to 7:30PM
• Teamwork mindset — Cooperative, coachable, and able to take feedback.
• Reliable transportation — Must reach a non‑transit‑accessible location.
• Safety gear compliance — 6‑inch tie‑up steel‑toe boots and safety vest required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nisku, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
