As a Speech-Language Pathologist (Permanent, full-time; Effective date : Immediately; Location : Timmins or Sudbury) you are responsible for the provision of speech-language pathology services to Ontario Health atHome patients to address and improve communication and / or swallowing disorder.
Whether you work in our office, in the community, or a health care facility – you will play a lead role in providing connected, accessible, patient-centred care – and be supported by our collaborative team that includes over 9,000 regulated health care and other professionals.

What will you do?
- Respond to patient referrals from Care Coordinators to properly administer speech-language pathology services.
- Assess patient communication and / or swallowing abilities, using a variety of standardized and non-standardized assessment tools, to determine their treatment needs and therapy goals.
- Develop and implement treatment program and / or compensatory strategies / techniques to address established therapy goals as they relate to communication, language skills, and / or swallowing function.
- Oversee patients’ progress and adjust treatment programs when needed, to ensure therapy goals are met.
- Educate and train patients, their families, caregivers, and / or substitute decision makers, on how to progress with the treatment plan.
- Link patients with other in-house services or outside organizations if needed.
- Balance patients’ needs and choices with available resources, ensuring their values and preferences are respected.
- Accurately document and chart patients’ assessment results, goals, treatment plans, and interventions.
