Description
We're looking for both a part-time Front Counter Attendant, who is friendly and welcoming to join us at Saltwater Bakery + Provisions in Prince Rupert, BC. Front Counter Attendants are responsible for creating a welcoming and friendly environment for customers and visitors. They will assist customers with baked good selection, advise on ingredients and potential allergens, take orders, and process payments. The job also includes some light prep work and monitoring the baked goods and merchandise display as well as tidying and restocking proactively. Additionally, they will maintain a clean and organized front of house area including the front counter, display coolers, display shelves, and customer area. Interested applicants should have a passion for local food, the ability to maintain a clean and organized environment, and a friendly disposition. Front Counter Attendants must be able to clearly communicate product information including information on pricing, ingredients, and allergens, and most of their shift will be spent dealing with customers, so they should enjoy interacting with people. We'd like to see applicants with a current Food Safe Level 1 certificate, and the job requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50 lbs. Strong written and verbal communications skills in English are a must, and Front Counter Attendants need to be comfortable using the technologies required by the job. We are looking for someone with at least one year of experience in a customer service role, and we are looking for a part-time employee who can work 15 to 30 hours per week.
Qualifications
- FoodSafe Level 1, current.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift / carry weight up to 50lb.
- Comfortable using required technologies.
- Be legally able to work in Canada.
