To instruct the Natural Resource Science course NRSC 4130 – Fire Ecology and Management for the 2025 winter semester. One 2 hour lab per week and all associated marking (lab assignments etc..)
One position for 2 credits (lab lead).
One position for 1.5 credits (support).
QUALIFICATIONS
A MSc in environmental science (or related area) is preferred but a BSc with strong field / operational experience would be considered. Past teaching experience would be considered an asset. The candidate requires :
A clear understanding of the FWI and FBP Systems and how these are used in Canadian fire management
Experience with using Behave (Forest Fire Behaviour System) for fire modelling
An understanding of basic fire ecology along with general fire management
Work experience in fire at a field / operational level
