About the Role
Reports to the Director of Finance in the VPRI Office with a strong team to support the Research Offices. We have a great hybrid arrangement primarily working in the office 2-3 days a week. We value work-life balance and although we have busier times in the year, we are mindful of employee work culture.
The Financial Analyst manages the annual budget planning process and internal / external financial reporting; and the operating and specific purpose budgets and funds within various units in the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (VPRI) portfolio. The Financial Analyst provides financial administrative advice, consultation, assistance, and problem solving to the unit Directors and supports the development and claims process for major institutional infrastructure awards.
We’re looking for a highly self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working on monthly recurring tasks as well as a variety of ad hoc projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with strong analytical and communication skills.
The ideal candidate welcomes working collaboratively with the team members. The candidate should also be very self-motivated as it is a hybrid work arrangement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a professional accounting designation (CPA), and five years of related work experience, including experience in financial management within a corporate or university environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
