Summary of position :

The role of the Financial ERP Specialist will be to ensure that all aspects Financial Controls, Transactions and Accounting practices throughout the organization are reflected in the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.

The position requires an extensive working knowledge of the SAP S4 / HANA environment (FI / CO modules) and business processes surrounding its use in all the operational activities. A solid understanding of the Controller level day to day accounting requirements and the inter-departmental interfaces is mandatory.

Throughout the multiple-year implementation project, the Finance ERP Specialist will be required to interact directly with the consultant groups working on the development of the SAP S / 4 HANA software. They will also be required to gather information from Heroux-Devtek (HD) peers, lead workshops with both consultants and internal personnel, as well as review existing processes and understand how they can be applied to the new proposed software solution, rewriting and revising as necessary.

Main responsibilities :

  • Own the Financial & Accounting procedures and develop business process documentation (SOPs, end-user procedures, etc.) based on existing experience and peer input
  • Subject Matter Expert for the Finance group
  • Acts as liaison for the consultants / HD employees on the operation analysis and review of processes / procedures
  • Participates in the Core Team Training with the intent of becoming a Financial Management “Superuser” for the ERP system
  • Makes decisions on the solution design for Finance & Accounting Requirements
  • Oversees and establishes the data migration rules for the Finance environment
  • Leads Finance and Accounting workshops with different business units to harmonize the company processes
  • Conducts solution testing preparation and execution for the Finance & Cost Accounting ERP modules
  • Provides end-user training and second-level support for the Finance teams post go-live
  • Implement standardized, simple and efficient business processes and system processes
  • Change agent throughout the organization
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Solid Finance experience in the Manufacturing Industry
  • Strong understanding of SAP FI modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting) and CO modules (Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing).
  • Experience interfacing with SAP consultants, understanding technical configuration while focusing on business process optimization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with external consultants and internal teams.
  • Experience with SAP S / 4HANA and Fiori applications is a plus.
  • SAP FICO certification.
  • Familiarity with IFRS or GAAP accounting standards.
  • Experience working on projects involving external consultants and managing vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of cross-functional integration with other SAP modules (MM, SD, PP).
