Our client is a manufacturer of plastic films products designed for the food, packaging, consumer and industrial wrapping industry. They have partnered with Randstad to support them in the search for their Plant Process Engineer role.
Position : Process Engineer - Commissioning Extruder Blown-Film Line
Location - Concord, ON
Reports to : Plant Manager - General Manager
Industry – Plastic Blow Films

The ideal candidate will have :
- A proven track record of successfully leading new projects, such as commissioning an extruder line or implementing process improvements projects from conception to completion.
- A deep understanding of polymer processing and manufacturing principles

Responsibilities
The Process Engineer will develop and implement process improvements to ensure safety, quality, cost, and efficiency requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include :
Key Responsibilities :
1. Interface with floor personnel to improve operational uptime and resolve technical issues.
2. Review and manage process conditions, line conditions, and Standard Operating Conditions (SOCs).
3. Support quality and continuous improvement initiatives through technical analysis and recommendations.
4. Provide mentoring and training to operators, laboratory personnel, and interns.
5. Optimize First Pass Material Yield, Throughput, and reduce downtime and scrap.
6. Develop and implement process improvement programs, lean manufacturing initiatives, and technical training.
7. Investigate new methods to improve plant performance and ensure effective training documentation.
8. Support capital projects, customer visits, and quality investigations.
Overall Goal : Improve operational efficiency, quality, and safety while reducing costs and downtime.
