Executive Director

TELUS Fund

Location : Remote

The TELUS Fund is a unique not-for-profit corporation that finances exceptional Canadian content at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and wellness. Backed by a portion of TELUS’ broadcasting distribution revenues, the Fund supports high-quality media that promotes the mental, physical, and social health of Canadians. Through strategic investments, cross-sector collaboration, and industry leadership, the Fund is transforming how health and wellness are experienced through screen-based media.

Since its inception, the Fund has invested millions in over 100 projects that have received national and international recognition and distribution across major platforms, including CBC, TVO, Crave, Knowledge Network, and Netflix. With measurable impact as a core mandate, many funded projects extend beyond the screen—used in schools, healthcare settings, and communities to inspire awareness, behaviour change, and improved health outcomes.

With the planned retirement of its founding Executive Director, the TELUS Fund is seeking a visionary and purpose-driven leader to guide its next phase of growth and national impact. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of Canadian content that fosters well-being, strengthens communities, and contributes to public health through innovative media.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead the organization’s strategic direction, operational excellence, stakeholder relations, and funding strategy. Key responsibilities include evaluating project proposals, cultivating partnerships with creators, broadcasters, and funders, measuring the social and behavioural impact of funded content, and serving as the Fund’s public voice in industry and community settings.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and influential senior leader with significant experience in Canada’s screen-based industries or related cultural sectors. They bring deep expertise in content financing, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, along with a strong understanding of Canadian media policy, CRTC regulations, and industry trends. A passion for health and wellness, paired with a demonstrated commitment to innovation, equity, and measurable social impact, will distinguish the successful candidate. Bilingualism (English and French) is a preferable asset.

This is a fully remote, part-time position (approx. 1200+ hours annually), open to candidates based anywhere in Canada.

Join a nationally respected and mission-driven organization with a growing global voice—and help shape a legacy of transformative storytelling that improves the lives of Canadians.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is for $120,000-135,000, plus benefits and bonus.

We thank all applicants for their interest in this position. Please note that we will only be in contact with those individuals moving forward with our client.

Direction Générale

Fonds TELUS
