Adecco in partnership with our client, is currently hiring a full-time passionate and dedicated Recreation Manager to lead, plan, and oversee recreational programs and activities for our client's organization in Perth South, ON. This role involves managing a team, coordinating events, and ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all participants.   • Pay Rate : 65k - 80k / year (based on experience)
  • Location : Perth South
  • Shift : Mondays to Fridays | 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm

Responsibilities :

  • Plan, develop, and implement a variety of aquatic programs and activities for all age groups and skill levels.
  • Schedule and coordinate swimming lessons, public swim times, special events, and other aquatic activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, adjusting as necessary to meet community needs.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and other pool staff.
  • Develop and implement staff training programs, including safety protocols, emergency procedures, and customer service.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of service and safety.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the swimming pool, ensuring it is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure timely repairs and upkeep of pool equipment and facilities.
  • Enforce all health and safety regulations, including water quality standards and facility rules.
  • Community Recreation Programming :
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise a variety of community recreation programs and activities.
  • Identify community needs and develop appropriate programs to meet these needs.
  • Promote participation in recreational activities through various marketing strategies.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with recreational programs and activities.
  • Develop and implement volunteer training programs to ensure volunteers are well-prepared and effective.
  • Recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions through regular feedback and special events.
  • Provide excellent customer service to pool patrons and program participants, addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all community members.
  • Prepare and manage the aquatic and recreation program budgets, including tracking expenses and revenues.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, staff and volunteer certifications, and facility maintenance.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations related to aquatic facilities and recreation programs.
  • Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and inspections to maintain a high standard of safety.
  • Qualifications :

  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in aquatic program management, community recreation programming, or a similar role.
  • Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instruction.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of pool maintenance and water quality management.
  • Experience in volunteer coordination and community engagement.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • This position requires working in a pool environment, which includes exposure to water, humidity, and varying temperatures.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, swimming, and occasional lifting of equipment or supplies
