Overview

We are seeking a full time Director of Commercial Claims for our London, Waterloo and Ottawa Region. The successful candidate will be part of the Ontario Region Claims Team, reporting to the VP Claims, Ontario, leading the Claims Team in London to provide Gallagher clients with outstanding claims service and advocacy, maintaining and exceeding the service standards of the Gallagher Claims division. How you'll make an impact

  • Leadership and Mentorship of Claims Specialists, Advocates and Associates
  • Discuss and review of large Commercial Insurance clients' new claims with analysis of policy wordings
  • Provide Claims counselling as required to insureds in a professional and conscientious manner
  • Advocate on large or complex client claims, as necessary, on client's behalf with insurers
  • Support Claim Advocates in review of policy coverages, wordings and advocacy
  • Lead client meetings collaborating with Client Solutions Team
  • Foster relationships with Gallagher insurers' Claims Management Teams, Large Loss Adjusters and Independent Adjusters
  • Develop partnerships with Key Service Providers including Restoration Companies, Auto Appraisers, Accounting Firms and Law Firms
  • Maintain, coordinate and update client files using Broker Management System and filing software
  • Connect with adjusters and insureds with respect to open claims
  • Liaise between insured and insurance carrier during settlement negotiations when required
  • Attend company sponsored seminars and educational activities needed to maintain product knowledge and expertise, and participate in projects at management's request

About you

  • RIBO license or ability to acquire upon commencing role is required
  • Claims Adjusting Experience or Commercial Broker including Claims Advocacy Experience required
  • Expertise in non-profit, program or manufacturing claims an asset
  • Team Management and / or Leadership Experience an asset
  • CAIB, CIP or CRM designations an asset
  • Comprehensive and effective verbal / written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Broker Management or electronic filing software an asset #LI-SS1 #LI-HYBRID
