What do you offer

The Manager of the Employment Access Centre will lead a team that provides employment services including : resource information and referral support employment consultation and case management job development and incentive supports to the unemployed / underemployed wishing to work in Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Employment Services the Manager is responsible for the overall management of program development and facilitation ensuring that contractual obligations are exceeded ensuring that there is sufficient community awareness for the program and to ultimately bridge the gap between employers and job seekers.

Some of the tasks of this position include :

  • Managing program development and facilitation.
  • Managing a team of staff and volunteers.
  • Ensuring that contractual obligations are exceeded.

  • What qualifications and abilities are we looking for

    The successful candidate will have the following :

    Education

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field
  • Language

  • Fluent in English oral and written
  • Other languages are an asset
  • Experience Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years program management experience
  • Experience managing budgets and financial documents
  • Experience managing staff of up to 20 people
  • Extensive knowledge of Employment Ontario Employment Services and relevant stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities
  • Ability to work with clients and staff with diverse needs backgrounds and skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • A Police Record check not more than 6 months old is required. Police Records checks are reviewed on an individual basis and the offense(s) - if any - is considered in the decision-making process in relation to the requirement of working with children therefore not eliminating all candidates with a record from being offered a position.
  • Annually staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
