Job description

The Role : As an LPN in ER, you will provide patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with acute medical conditions.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct rapid assessments of patients to determine the urgency and severity of injuries or illnesses in a high-pressure environment.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by physicians or advanced practice providers, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and critical patient data, including lab results and diagnostic tests, with attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with the emergency healthcare team to develop and implement immediate care plans.
  • Provide clear communication and support to patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff, adhering strictly to infection control and safety protocols.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted LPN license in your province.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency setting.
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, CTAS and PALS certification.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
