- Primary point of contact between Sask Polytechnic Marketing / Communications, IT and Enrolment Services departments and the Centre for Continuing Education.
- Collaborate in the development of marketing plans for the Centre for Continuing Education, Surge micro credentials, and course specific marketing campaigns to drive revenue generation.
- Create marketing plans and proposals for educational activities to meet the business-related learning needs of both individuals and groups within a variety of fields and industries.
- Identify programs and services that meet the needs of businesses / industry and the community.
- Determine education and training gaps relevant to economic and public sector employers, with a focus on the development of skills and training of individuals to help business / corporate clients meet their goals.
- Work with the leadership to research new initiatives and offerings within the Centre for Continuing Education.
- Ensure the design and development of marketing publications and services responsive to training and development needs of individuals and business / corporate / professional clients.
- Determine gross activity budgets for an assigned work area.
- Manage financial resources to meet programmatic needs and report revenues and expenditures against agreed upon targets.
- Attend leadership meetings and Advisory meetings for your assigned work area.
- Develop and implement appropriate marketing strategies to promote the programs and Continuing Education services as they relate to the training and development needs of individuals and business / corporate clients.
- Monitor ongoing marketing strategy effectiveness.
- Manage the daily operations of Continuing Education’s marketing and communication activities as well as the customer service and Extension Support teams.
- Act as the lead for activity in your assigned portfolio including the collaboration with other staff in Continuing Education, Marketing, Communications, IT, and Enrolment Services, holding regular meetings to keep everyone informed about Continuing Education activity, and monthly reports to leadership.
- Contribute to the development of and implementation of Continuing Education’s business plan.
- Contribute to the development and management of operating capital budgets.
- Assist in the hiring and assignment of work for Professional Services staff for your assigned area.
- Contribute to the goals and development of the division and Saskatchewan Polytechnic in accordance with the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Extension policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA) 1. A four-year degree in business or communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. A minimum of two years’ experience in planning, developing, implementing, and leading continuing education programming; or recent participation in at least two of the following
areas :
Marketing plans and strategy
Business plans and business development
Training needs assessments
Training proposal development
Sales and negotiation or proposal and grant writing
3. Leadership and supervisory experience, providing strategic level impact.
4. Analytical, motivational, and strategic planning skills required along with strong business acumen.
5. Demonstrated experience managing budgets and allocating resources within established guidelines.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create and foster relationships with clients / stakeholders.
7. Ability to collect and analyze client / stakeholder feedback / market research to identify business needs and obstacles.
8. Highly motivated, team oriented, flexible, self-directed, and committed to the enhancement and expansion of the organizations’ Extension unit.
9. Effective problem solving and organizational skills.
10. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
11. Ability to work as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
12. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
