To pursue project and client development in the Sept-Îles region, BBA wants to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Sept-Îles region and in executing various projects in the mining and metals, and energy sectors. By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to assist our industrial clients in the energy and mining markets with their operations and their maintenance or growth projects. In more practical terms, you’ll be called upon to perform site surveys and tests on high- and medium-voltage electrical equipment, as well as participate in the commissioning of new equipment and systems. You’ll also have the opportunity to help with various stages in project execution. What's more, you'll be responsible for ensuring quality professional services and for maintaining strong client relationships.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Member of the OIQ
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in power systems and MV and HV equipment
• Available to travel among our Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Sept-Îles and Labrador City offices
• Available for short-term assignments outside our offices (mandatory) and long-term assignments (an asset)
• In-depth knowledge of electrical installation safety
• Thorough knowledge of MV and HV equipment and switchgear
• Intermediate knowledge of test equipment
• Intermediate knowledge of workplace safety (workers’ compensation) and field monitoring
• Knowledge of power flow studies, short-circuit studies, protection coordination and arc-flash hazard analysis
• Knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Outlook, MS Project, Excel)
• Proficient with ETAP, EMTP-RV, CYME and PSAF software
• Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written, and ability to draft technical documents in both English and French
