Position Summary

The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina is seeking a Clinical Instructor for our Bilingual Social Work Field Education program, within the Bilingual Bachelor of Social Work Cohort Program. This is a full-time, 2-year term position located in Regina.

The social work program of education, research and community service is designed to prepare students for critical generalist social work practice with diverse peoples. Informed by the principles of Indigenization, sustainability and social justice, the social work program encourages students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized and oppressed. It supports students in developing the commitment, knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to confront structural inequalities, and to empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential.The Clinical instructor works in close collaboration with the Associate Dean-Undergraduate, Field Education Coordinator, Director, Finance and Administration, and the Practicum Placement Team. The Clinical Instructor is responsible for teaching and community engagement in the development, coordination, and evaluation of undergraduate bilingual field education in Saskatchewan’s Francophone communities.

Responsibilities include:
  • Identifying French minority field placement opportunities, and ensuring their ongoing capacity to provide a quality student learning experience;
  • Facilitating and integrating theory and practice in French field education courses (SW 348/448) as well as other French and English core BSW courses;
  • Training and supporting francophone agency supervisors in student supervision;
  • Providing feedback, consultation, and input in the evaluation of Fransaskois practicum placements and student experiences.

La Faculté de travail social de l’Université de Regina recherche un instructrice.teur clinique pour le programme de formation bilingue sur le terrain , dans le cadre du programme bilingue du baccalauréat en travail social. Il s’agit d’un poste à temps plein d’une durée de deux ans, situé à Regina.

Le programme d’enseignement, de recherche et de service communautaire en travail social est conçu pour préparer les étudiants à la pratique critique du travail social généraliste auprès de populations diverses. S’appuyant sur les principes d’autochtonisation , de durabilité et de justice sociale, le programme de travail social encourage les étudiants à identifier les besoins des personnes défavorisées, marginalisées et opprimées. Il aide les étudiants à développer l’engagement, les connaissances, les valeurs, les attitudes et les compétences nécessaires pour lutter contre les inégalités structurelles et donner aux individus, aux familles et aux communautés les moyens de réaliser leur plein potentiel.

L’instructrice.teur clinique travaille en étroite collaboration avec le vice-doyen chargé des études de premier cycle, le coordonnateur de la formation sur le terrain, l’administrateur de la faculté et l’équipe chargée des stages. L’instructrice.teur clinique est responsable de l’enseignement et de l’engagement communautaire dans le cadre de l’élaboration, de la coordination et de l’évaluation de la formation bilingue sur le terrain de premier cycle dans les communautés francophone de la Saskatchewan.

Les responsabilités comprennent :

  • identifier les possibilités de stages sur le terrain pour les minorités francophones et veiller à ce qu’elles continuent d’offrir une expérience d’apprentissage de qualité aux étudiants ;
  • faciliter et intégrer la théorie et la pratique dans les cours de formation sur le terrain en français (SW 348/448) ainsi que dans d’autres cours de base en français et en anglais du baccalauréat en travail social ;
  • former et soutenir les superviseurs des organismes francophones dans la supervision des étudiants ;
  • fournir des commentaires, des conseils et des suggestions dans le cadre de l’évaluation des stages pratiques et des expériences des étudiants issus de la minorité francophone.
Position Requirements Appointment will be at the Clinical Instructor Level lI or III, depending on qualifications. Minimum qualifications include a graduate social work degree (MSW), fluency in French and English, field education experience in social work at the university or college level, relevant human service teaching and practice experience, managerial and/or administrative experience, and requires active registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers once hired.The successful applicants will be required to teach using a range of instructional modalities, including hybrid and other flexible delivery formats.

They are expected to have knowledge of francophone minority communities in Canada, including francophone immigrant and newcomer communities.Collaborative and consultative work experience within post-secondary education is an asset.The salary will be commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.

Il s’agira d’un poste de niveau II ou III d’instructeur clinique, selon les qualifications. Les qualifications minimales requises comprennent un diplôme d’études supérieures en travail social (maîtrise en travail social), la maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, une expérience de formation sur le terrain en travail social au niveau universitaire ou collégial, une expérience pertinente dans l’enseignement et la pratique des services humanitaires , une expérience en gestion et/ou en administration, et l’adhésion à l’Association des travailleurs sociaux de la Saskatchewan dès l’embauche.

Le ou la candidat.e retenu.e doit enseigner en se servant de diverses modalités pédagogiques, y compris des formats hybrides et autres formats flexibles.

Le ou la candidat.es doit avoir une connaissance des communautés francophones minoritaires au Canada, y compris des communautés francophones d’immigrants et de nouveaux arrivants.

Une expérience de travail en collaboration et en consultation dans l’enseignement postsecondaire est un atout.

Le salaire sera déterminé en fonction des qualifications et de l’expérience du candidat ou de la candidate retenu.e.
