Become a key player in our operations! Work in a dynamic environment where you'll handle and transport goods with precision. Your mastery of the electric pallet truck and your attention to detail will ensure smooth management of shipments, having a direct impact on the efficiency of our operations.
About The Role
Reporting to the Distribution Director (Quebec), you will lead operations for one of our largest distribution centres, spanning over 1 million square feet. This strategic facility serves a national network and handles all aspects of operations : inbound receiving, product flow, order preparation, and outbound shipping. You will manage a significant operating budget, develop workforce‑planning strategies, and drive change management following the recent implementation of the Blue Yonder WMS.
You will oversee a leadership team of 3 managers, who supervise 12 supervisors, supporting a significant unionised workforce of 300 employees. Your leadership will ensure a safe, efficient, and high‑performing environment.
Your Responsibilities
Ensure efficiency and productivity in order to build a best‑in‑class distribution centre.
Develop and execute daily and weekly operational plans that meet or exceed customer‑service expectations while achieving maximum operating efficiency and maximizing budget.
Oversee all distribution‑centre activities, including receiving, storage, order picking, and shipping.
Optimize resource utilisation and collaboration with regional teams and other departments (Supply Chain, Transportation, Stores).
Maintain clear communication with the leadership team regarding objectives, priorities, and operational updates.
Manage facility maintenance and improvement projects within budget and safety standards.
Analyse performance metrics and recommend improvements to achieve service, productivity, and cost objectives.
Ensure adherence to budget targets (fixed and variable costs) and take corrective actions based on financial results.
Develop and implement short‑ and long‑term staffing plans aligned with volume forecasts and productivity goals.
Recruit, train, and develop high‑performing management teams (managers and supervisors).
Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility and equipment to maintain operational readiness.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in large‑scale distribution or complex operations.
Proven ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills across all organisational levels.
Ability to manage strategic projects and make sound decisions in dynamic environments.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience with WMS systems (Blue Yonder preferred).
Experience in a unionised environment (an asset).
Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Benefits
An inclusive and safe working environment.
Promotion of work‑life balance.
Exclusive employee discounts.
Insurance (certain conditions apply) and annual salary review.
Opportunities for advancement within the company.
Community‑involved employer.
Teamwork and ongoing training.
A comprehensive training programme for all new hires.
A student incentive programme.
And much more!
