Queen’s is seeking an inspiring, strategic, and dynamic leader to serve as its next Dean of the Smith School of Business . This is a unique opportunity for a bold, collaborative, and future-oriented academic leader to guide one of Canada’s most prestigious business schools through its next chapter of innovation, growth, and impact.
Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), the Dean is responsible for setting and realising an aspirational vision for Smith Business. The Dean leads the School’s academic mission, promoting and ensuring excellence in research, developing innovative programming, and maintaining an outstanding student experience. The Dean ensures the School’s long-term sustainability through strategic planning, financial stewardship, and operational excellence. A champion of interdisciplinary collaboration and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Dean fosters a culture of purpose, innovation, and belonging. As a senior university leader and key external ambassador, the Dean strengthens partnerships across Queen’s, with industry and alumni, and plays a central role in fundraising, reputation building, and shaping Smith Business’s global impact. The Dean is a member of the university’s leadership team delivering the institution’s strategic goals and objectives.
