In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Employee Relations and Health & Safety Business Partner, as well as with various stakeholders across HR and the organization, to develop and implement best practices, resources, and tools in the area of employee relations. Your expertise in investigations and mediation will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Workplace Respect program and policy, while supporting our collective efforts to maintain a healthy, safe, and inclusive workplace in a hybrid environment.

What you’ll do here:

  • Act as a strategic reference and subject matter expert for the HR community on employee relations and complex workplace respect situations, by advising on the interpretation and application of policies.
  • Collaborate with various centers of expertise to develop and implement tools, standards, and templates designed to support operational HR teams with respect to Employee Relations.
  • Partner with the IFC Health & Safety team to strengthen the hybrid health & safety practices and process across our Canadian operations.
  • Further the advancement of our domestic violence policy & process management; in addition to evolving our training and awareness protocol.
  • Collaborate with our mental health team on the psychological health and safety support for employees, sharing and aligning on organizational best practices.

Respect in the Workplace and Investigations

  • Participate in the implementation of workplace harassment prevention strategies across all levels of our organization.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and support HR, leaders and employees in successful resolution of workplace issues and conflicts.
  • Elevate organizational training on workplace respect for all employees nationwide.
  • Support the development and deployment of advanced training for HR professionals on respect in the workplace, conflict resolution, and mediation best practices.
  • Collaborate with departments such as corporate communications, legal, HR, compliance, and IT to ensure seamless program implementation.

Best Practice Alignment and COE Enhancement

  • Ensure our practices related to Employee Relations, Respect in the Workplace and Health & Safety align with industry and market best practices and propose relevant improvements.
  • Utilize market research and data analysis to anticipate needs and craft proactive strategies for the Employee Relations COE.
  • Conduct gap analyses and assess operational needs to propose alignments and solution to enhance the efficiency of HR processes and support our Canadian operations.
  • Analyze global trends and prepare quarterly executive summaries and ad hoc reporting.
  • Enhance our internal dashboard and reporting KPIs to reflect the latest industry standards.
  • Leverage best practices with respect to psycho-social risk prevention.

What you bring to the table:

  • A university degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources with strong employee relations experience.
  • Strategic focus, autonomy, and exceptional organizational skills.
  • High capacity for managing stress and navigating ambiguity with motivation to bring clarity and confidence.
  • Adaptability to a continuously evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail and experience in trend and data analysis.
  • Exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills with different level of managements and a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to display curiosity and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • CHRP designation and Workplace mediation or investigation certification preferred.
