Job descriptionFormulating the annual operating and capital budget. Determining cost-effective approaches for tasks and projects. Managing weekly department expenditures. Negotiating for best prices while maintaining high service levels. Tracking and coordinating productivity of staff and project control resources. Initiating and planning energy savings programs. Managing purchase requisitions and orders in line with policies. Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to construction and services. Conducts regular preventative inspections of operations and the building. Supervises the Structural Work Program with consultants and specialized crews. Manages essential service contractors, including HVAC, Elevators, Generators, Landscapers, and Janitorial services. Handles work involving exposure to various elements and hazards. Maintain a 24 hour / 7 day per week on call status in case of emergency. May require resolution of issues onsite during off hours (evenings and weekends). Coordinate and attend all power shutdowns and scheduled generator maintenance to ensure minimal disruption. Ensures high service quality and promptly responds to tenant inquiries. Investigates and resolves tenant complaints. Attends regular meetings to maintain strong tenant relationships and advise on project feasibility and implementation as required. Education : Relevant diploma or degree in Engineering, Building Operations, or Facility Management, preferably in electrical or mechanical disciplines. Experience : Minimum 10 years in facilities / engineering management, with plant equipment experience (e.g., chillers, cooling towers) and leading greening sustainability initiatives are an asset. Knowledge : Proficiency in large scale project management. Strong understanding in building construction, renovations, trades repairs, energy saving programs, maintenance, and integrated understanding of physical plant and facility services. Familiarity with building maintenance and WHMIS is essential. Skills : Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects, and develop recordkeeping systems. Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively. Sector Experience : Knowledge or experience in Manufacturing or Industrial sectors is advantageous.

Demonstrate high-level leadership that inspires and motivates the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Oversees a team of project engineers, trades, maintenance, facilities, and third-party contractors.
