Job description

Sentient HR provides staffing solutions to licensed childcare centres across Ontario.

As a RECE, you will be responsible for guiding, teaching, and ensuring the safety of children between infant to school age at centres located in Durham region.

Your responsibilities include maintaining a high-quality environment, assessing, observing, and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining professional communication with parents and co-workers.

Working Conditions : Occasional light to medium physical effort; lifting, bending and stooping.

Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.

Responsibilities : Fulfill the lead teacher’s program and daily activities; if no plan exists, create and implement a developmentally appropriate program.

Promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being of children.

Provide supervision and prioritize the safety of children; understand and comply with CCEYA, public health and Sentient HR policies.

Facilitate and participate with children in planned activities.

Maintain and complete comprehensive documentation of children’s development and interactions.

Report issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with centre procedures.

Foster positive relationships and develop rapport through effective communication with peers.

Work cooperatively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements : ECE Diploma from a recognized Ontario college In Good Standing with the College of ECEs.

Clear Vulnerable Sector Police check (within 6 months) Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C Familiarity with HDLH, AQI, and CCEYA Reliable transportation within Durham region.
