Job description
NextGen Automation is seeking a full-time IT Support Engineer to join our growing team in the Vernon, Kelowna, and Kamloops region. In this role, you’ll provide both remote and onsite support to our business clients — resolving technical issues, implementing IT solutions, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
You’ll be part of a highly skilled team that delivers reliable, professional, and customer-focused IT services across Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Manage incoming tickets and client communications through our service desk and onsite.
Required onsite at client location 4 days a week.
Provide troubleshooting and technical support for a wide range of IT systems.
Perform onsite service calls for installations, maintenance, and emergency support.
Assist with setup, configuration, and management of Microsoft 365 environments.
Install and maintain hardware, software, and networking equipment.
Conduct technical alignment reviews and report findings to management.
Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to systems or processes.
Keep all documentation accurate and up to date.
Collaborate with the Professional Services and vCIO teams for escalations and project work.
Mentor users and promote best practices for using IT systems effectively.
Maintain a positive, solutions-oriented approach with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications
2+ years of hands‑on experience in IT support, system administration, or similar role.
Strong understanding of Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.
Experience with networking technologies (firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, Wi‑Fi).
Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service delivery frameworks.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Detail‑oriented, organized, and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset.
