Job description

Registered Architect (BC Interior Relocation)
BC's Interior Region
Architecture & Design Firm
Salary: $85,000–$115,000
Leadership Opportunity. Career Growth. Project Variety.

Please Note: This position is based in British Columbia's Interior Region. We are particularly interested in speaking with Registered Architects currently based in Canada's Prairie Region who are open to relocating and building a long-term career in BC.

About the Firm

Our client is a well-established architectural practice with multiple offices across British Columbia. Known for its collaborative culture and long-standing client relationships, the firm delivers a diverse range of projects throughout the province, serving both public and private sector clients.

One of their growing Interior BC offices continues to experience a strong and consistent workload, supported by a healthy pipeline of projects and an established presence within the region. As the office expands, they are looking to add an experienced Architect who is excited to take on greater project leadership while contributing to the continued growth of the team.

Why Join This Team?

If you're an Architect currently living in Canada's Prairie Region and have been considering a move within Western Canada, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

The BC Interior continues to experience strong and consistent growth, creating excellent long-term opportunities for Architects looking to build their careers within one of Western Canada's strongest regional markets. While many firms across Canada have experienced fluctuations in hiring, this office has maintained a healthy backlog of work and continues to invest in its people.

This is an opportunity to build on the strong technical and project experience you've developed in the Prairie Region while gaining exposure to a broader range of project types and taking on greater project leadership. You'll lead projects from early planning through construction, work directly with clients, consultants, and contractors, and be trusted with meaningful responsibility from day one.

The firm values collaboration, encourages new ideas, and supports professional growth through mentorship, autonomy, and exposure to every stage of project delivery. You'll enjoy the stability and resources of an established practice while benefiting from the close-knit culture of a collaborative office where your contributions are recognized and your career can continue to grow.

Relocating to BC's Interior also offers an exceptional quality of life. Enjoy significantly shorter commutes than larger metropolitan centres, a welcoming community, and year-round access to hiking, skiing, mountain biking, golf, lakes, wineries, and countless outdoor activities. It's an opportunity to enjoy everything that makes Western Canada great while advancing your career in one of BC's strongest architectural markets.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Architect to lead projects through all phases of design and construction.

Working closely with senior leadership, consultants, and clients, you'll manage multiple projects while overseeing design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination, and construction administration. This role offers an excellent balance of technical delivery, project management, and client-facing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout project delivery.
  • Prepare and review design packages, permit drawings, and construction documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality control across multiple projects.
  • Lead client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Support contract administration, including RFIs, submittals, site reviews, and change documentation.
  • Mentor junior architectural and technical staff.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and firm standards.

Qualifications

  • Registered Architect with the AIBC is preferred, therefore, architects registered with another Canadian provincial association who are eligible and willing to transfer their registration to the AIBC are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 5 years of architectural experience delivering projects through all phases.
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment.
  • Open to relocating to BC's Interior Region.

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary of $85,000–$115,000, depending on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Relocation opportunity to one of British Columbia's strongest architectural markets.
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across British Columbia.
  • Opportunity to lead projects from concept through construction.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Long-term career growth with an established and expanding architectural practice.
  • Exceptional work-life balance with year-round access to outdoor recreation and a welcoming Interior BC community.

If you're ready to take the next step in your career while enjoying everything Western Canada has to offer, I'd love to connect.
