Job description

Vice President, Investor Relations

Location: Montréal-based with hybrid model

Compensation: $140,000-$170,000 base salary + discretionary bonus

About the Company

Our client is a multi-strategy alternative investment firm with over $1 billion in assets under management. Specializing in farmland and private equity, the firm has an 18-year track record of unlocking value in under-financialized markets where fundamentals drive performance and resilience across cycles.

Role Summary

As Vice President, Investor Relations, you will be a key member of the Capital Markets team, reporting directly to the Director of Capital Markets. You will lead investor communications, manage the full investor-relations lifecycle, and support fundraising across North America and global markets. This role combines high-touch investor engagement with hands-on ownership of IR processes and documentation, and you will help build and scale the firm’s IR infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a polished, process-driven professional with at least five years of experience in private-markets investor relations or a comparable client-facing role. The role includes periodic travel for investor meetings and conferences.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation Management

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in CRM systems and secure data rooms, following best practices.
  • Ensure all investor information, documents, and workflows are organized, current, and compliant with internal processes.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to reporting, communication templates, and IR workflows.

Fundraising Support

  • Prepare pitchbooks, offering materials, and collateral required throughout the fundraising process.
  • Coordinate responses to DDQs, RFPs, and other diligence requests by working closely with Investment, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Coordinate internal approvals for investor-facing materials.
  • Ensure prospective LPs receive timely, high-quality information that clearly reflects the firm’s strategy and track record.

Investor Engagement

  • Support ongoing engagement with institutional investors and partners.
  • Organize and participate in investor meetings, roadshows and conferences.
  • Address investor inquiries quickly and professionally to maintain a high-touch client experience.
  • Plan and execute investor events, including annual meetings, webinars, and targeted sessions.
  • Manage logistics, materials, and post-event follow-up to maximize investor engagement.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of investor materials, including quarterly and annual reports, presentations, newsletters, and ad hoc communications.
  • Ensure all information is accurate, clearly presented, and adheres to firm standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, Communications, or related field; advanced degrees are an asset.
  • Minimum five years of experience at a private equity, private credit, real asset, hedge fund or any other alternative investments firm. Will also consider Investment Banking experience at a bank.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with institutional investors and familiarity with private-market fund structures preferred.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Deep understanding of the expectations of institutional and family offices LPs.
  • Strong analytical abilities with experience producing clear, data-driven investor materials.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; comfort with CRM platforms and electronic data-room tools.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into concise, investor-ready content.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong relationship-management skills.
