What you will do :
Reporting to the Director of Strategy, you will be responsible for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of portfolio acquisitions and operations data. You will drive innovation and development of future techniques to continuously improve underwriting results and collection strategies.
Here’s what a typical day will include :
- Gathering source data and perform data preparation / data cleaning for modeling and analysis.
- Exploring datasets to identify relevant attributes as part of an analytical project.
- Developing and testing hypotheses of data presented internally or by a business partner.
- Building increasingly complex models using multiple ML algorithms with appropriate oversight.
- Performing data analysis and reporting to discover trends and patterns that can be used to extract valuable business insights.
- Utilizing Microsoft SQL, MS Excel, R and / or Python, Power BI and other statistical tools.
- Presenting research and study findings to peers and management.

The Data Scientist must be proactive, with excellent organizational and time-management skills, and must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills are required to build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders.

Here’s what the schedule looks like :
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, business hours.
Technical requirements for working from home :
This position is designed for you to work from home. Technical requirements for working from home are hardwired internet with a minimum download speed of 25 mbps and a minimum upload speed of 5 mbps.
