Mission

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a Ready Mix Truck Driver in Fernie, BC.

Main Responsibilities

• Must be able to safely operate a Ready Mix Truck
• Complete driving assignments in a timely and safe manner.
• The applicant must be able to lift and move product sometimes involving strenuous labour.
• Ability to work extended hours & irregular days with irregular breaks.
• Will be required to maintain necessary logs, driving records and DOT certifications.
• Complete Daily pre and post trip inspections of vehicle.
• Complete all other tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.
• Perform a variety of tasks as needed or required when not delivering concrete.
• Must be willing to travel and work out town occasionally when required or necessary.

Requirements

• Have at a minimum an active Class 3 license (preference to Class 1)
• Pass a MVR and a Drug Test
• Experience operating a Ready Mix Truck or Gravel Truck in construction areas is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to perform manual labor.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Working Conditions

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required
• Willing to work in field and in all weather conditions
• Willing to work overtime (may include weekends) during the busy season (April to October) and on call as necessary.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• This is a safety sensitive position; selected candidate must pass drug and alcohol testing as required

Compensation Data

The anticipated wage for this position is $36.40/hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
