Easly is seeking an ambitious and results‑oriented Sales Director to accelerate our next stage of growth. Our Toronto office is a tight‑knit team that punches well above our weight. Founded in 2019, Easly is a Canadian alternative lending platform. We specialize in providing non‑dilutive financing to companies that receive government tax incentive refunds. Easly exists to provide funding that suits the needs of Canada’s innovative companies : simple, predictable, flexible working capital. We support innovative Canadian companies at every stage of growth by providing advances on earned Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credits.

Position Summary

As part of a two‑person Sales Team, you will work closely with the Client Success Manager to grow Easly’s client base and brand in Canada. The role involves generating new leads, nurturing inbound leads, securing new business loans, developing partnerships, and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue and expand Easly’s market presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

New Business Acquisition and Revenue

  • Generate business loans through leads, partnerships, and targeted sales strategies.
  • Convert inbound interest into active sales opportunities through timely engagement and consultative conversations.
  • Manage and grow the Company’s client portfolio by building lasting relationships and ensuring ongoing engagement with assigned accounts.
  • Deliver exceptional service, serving as a trusted advisor and consistently meeting client needs to support retention and satisfaction.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for additional financing, proactively presenting solutions that align with client goals and business growth.
  • Consistently exceed monthly and quarterly new business targets through disciplined pipeline management and effective forecasting.
  • Generate new business through networking events and completing sales presentations to partners and other channel referrers.
  • Work closely with the Client Success Manager and the Client Account Manager to ensure a seamless transition for clients moving from initial onboarding to ongoing account management.
  • Coordinate efforts with team members and stakeholders to maximize results, share market insights, and support client success through collaborative initiatives.

Primary Contact

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned or sourced new funding requests, maintaining strong communication and responsiveness throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain positive, effective working relationships with channel partners.
  • Coordinate with partners to identify key sales opportunities to generate revenue.
  • Conduct regular, purposeful meetings with key accounts to drive engagement and identify evolving financing needs.
  • Product Knowledge and Compliance

  • Showcase in-depth product knowledge when interacting with clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on Easly’s product, policies, and procedures.
  • Follow sales and application document collection processes.
  • Qualifications

  • University degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development within the financial services or alternative lending industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of market trends, industry developments, and client financing solutions, with a strong understanding of SR&ED tax credits and government incentive programs is a bonus.
  • 5–8 years of progressive senior‑level account management experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Sales experience in financial services and / or channel sales roles.
  • Proven success in consultative business‑to‑business sales.

  • Formal financial training or certification is considered an asset.
  • Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Summary

  • Sales Growth : Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets for revenue, loans originated, and new accounts signed.
  • Client Acquisition : Increase the number of new clients added to the portfolio each quarter.
  • Relationship Management : Maintain a high client retention rate and strong partner satisfaction scores.
  • Data Integrity : Ensure 100% accuracy and timely updates in CRM systems (Salesforce and Box).
  • Market Intelligence : Provide regular reports on market trends, competitive activity, and new opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration : Demonstrate consistent collaboration with team members and partners to drive collective results.

  • Salary and Benefits

  • $140,000 base salary – up to $40,000 commission on top of base salary based on sales performance.
  • Annual discretionary bonus.
